One of India’s most ancient grains, millets are among the earliest known cultivated cereals. As rice and wheat production were pushed during the Green Revolution, the farming and consumption of millets fell drastically and they were deemed the ‘poor man’s grain’. On the contrary, they are highly nutritious and have adapted to many different environments.
To support the revival of this wonder grain, Slow Food has launched a network of indigenous millet producers across the country. Read more: http://bit.ly/1dyK0ZL
